2 Polling Officers suspended

Two Polling Officers were suspended by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) for dereliction of duty during the first phase of elections in the State on Monday. Polling Officer Tejansu Shah engaged for voting in the Narla Assembly constituency under the Kalahandi Lok Sabha constituency was suspended. Besides, another Polling Officer of the Brahmapur Parliamentary constituency was put under suspension for dereliction of duty, said CEO Nikunja Bihari Dhal.  Dhal also said that an incident of political violence was reported from the Chikiti Assembly constituency and police were alerted. The District Collector and the SP have been asked to take immediate action. "We are monitoring the entire voting process from our webcasting room," he said.
