Odisha government transfers 10 IAS officers

BHUBANESWAR: In a third major reshuffle among bureaucrats since past one week, the state government on Saturday transferred 10 senior IAS officers to new positions. Bishnupada Sethi , a 1995-batch IAS officer, who is currently heading the crucial excise department along with the fisheries and animal resources department (F&ARD), has been transferred as secretary, rural development department. Sethi would also serve as special relief commissioner.Science and technology secretary Vir Vikram Yadav (1996-batch) has been given with additional charge of excise department. On his return from central deputation, 1998-batch IAS officer Vishal Gagan, will replace Sethi as secretary of fisheries and ARD department.Gagan is given additional charge as managing director of the OMFED as 1992-btach IAS Chandra Shekhar Kumar has been posted as new revenue secretary in place of Mona Sharma.Rural development secretary Madhu Sudan Padhi (1991-batch) was posted as transport commissioner, Cuttack. The position was lying vacant after senior IPS officer D S Kutey, moved as the officer of special duty to chief minister Naveen Patnaik on April 15.Revenue divisional commissioner of northern division, Sambalpur Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma , a 1999 batch IAS officer, has been moved as special secretary of agriculture department.Labour commissioner Roopa Mishra (2004 batch) was transferred as director, drinking water and sanitation with additional charge as chief executive of the Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency.2007-batch IAS Jadhav Sachin Ramchandra, who is currently heading the Shelter Mission, would be the new labour commissioner.

He has also given additional charge as director, employees' state insurance and member secretary of construction workers welfare board.Among others, registrar of Sambalpur University M Muthu Kumar (2008 batch) replaced Srikanta Prusty as director, horticulture while Prusty has been moved as additional secretary of state higher education department.If sources in the corridors of power are anything to go by, the chief minister would execute a major reshuffle among the SPs and top cops after returning from New Delhi before making any changes in the council of ministers.
