Two Maoists killed in Odisha

BHUBANESWAR: At least two Maoists have been gunned down following exchange of fire with police at Salepali in Bargarh district on late Tuesday evening. The exchange of fire started around 10 pm in a forest under Paikmal police station area in Odisha 's Bargarh district. The combing and search operations is still continuing as a group of Maoists are suspected to have fled into the nearby forest. No injury/casualty on police side reported as of now.According to reports, the district police raided the Maoist camp on receiving information. Names of the two Maoists are yet to be ascertained.

The police seized two 303 rifles and other belongings from the spot, said a senior police officer.The deceased, whose names are being ascertained, belonged to Bargarh division of Maoists. The exchange of fire started around 10 pm in a forest under Paikmal police station area in Odisha 's Bargarh district. No injury/casualty on police side reported as of now.According to reports, the district police raided the Maoist camp on receiving information. The combing and search operations is still continuing as a group of Maoists are suspected to have fled into the nearby forest.
