Music in the air at Strawberry Fields

Tribune News ServiceChandigarh, April 21Music and melody reverberated around Strawberry Fields High School here on Saturday as the wind quartet team from the Symphony Orchestra of India performed on the school premises. The unique performance by the musicians from Kazakstan and the United States of America, which showcased the wind instruments, covered wide range music from classical to pop and jazz numbers. School Director Atul Khanna said that it was a constant endeavour of the school to acquaint its young students with the enriching power of the performing arts. Enveloped by a soothing verdant view of flowering jacaranda trees, the Wind Quartet, with Aigerim Beisembekova, on the flute, Farabi Bakhtiyarov on the oboe, Alpamys Bissengaliyev on the saxophone, and Stuart Potter who played the bassoon, presented a thrilling concert at the school’s Newton Hall for around 400 people.
