Patiala: Spurious milk factory sealed

During the raid, the team also recovered 50 kg Maltodextrin powder, 48 kg of soyabean oil along with the spurious milk.Samples collected from the spot were sent for chemical examination to a state laboratory at Kharar. The seized milk and other material were destroyed by the team. PATIALA: A joint team of food safety and dairy development department conducted a raid at a house in Fateh Enclave of Sirhind town and recovered 80 kg of spurious milk being prepared by using Maltodextrin powder and Soybean oil.The unit was being operated from a residential building without a valid licence. The hygienic condition was also found to be poor following which the team sealed the building.Dr Aditi Gupta, assistant commissioner of food safety, said on the raid had been conducted on the basis of a tip-off. She said after receiving the test reports legal action will be initiated against the owner.
