PANCHKULA: Four members of a family, including three children, were found murdered in their house at Khatauli village, near Raipur Rani, on Saturday at 9am.All of them were shot at point blank range between 9pm and 10pm on Friday night, police said. Nine bullet shells have been recovered. A property angle is suspected to be the motive. The accused were professionals or close to the family as no noise came from the house when they were killed, police said.The victims are Aishwarya Rajput (18), a BA first-year student in Government Girls College, Raipur Rani; her brother Divyanshu (16), a Class X student in a school at Mouli village, brother Ayush (12), a Class VI student in KVM School, Raipur Rani, and grandmother Rajbala (68). The siblings’ father Upender Singh Rajput had allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at the house in 2008, while their mother Shuda Rajput has been missing since 2016. Only one member of the family, Shelly (14) is left alive. She has been living with her aunt in Baltana, Zirakpur. The bodies were found by Suresh Pal, brother of Rajbala, in two separate rooms — two bodies in each room — at 9am.Pal said, “I went to see why my sister had not come to offer me tea at 6am as usual. When no response came from the house, I went to the fields for work. When I returned at 9 am, I found complete silence in the house. I went inside and found the second gate along the main one which generally remains closed open. The pet dog was lying unconscious in the verandah.” Pal called cops and his neighbours.Pal told police that he, Rajbala’s daughter Lovely Rajput and her son Vijay came to see her on Friday and were at the house till 7.30pm. Pal returned to his house after that and went to sleep. Upender, the father of the children, was the only son of Rajbala, along with three sisters.
