CHANDIGARH: Strongly criticizing "extra ordinary third time extension of eight months" to Punjab DGP Suresh Kumar Arora, Punjab Ekta Party (PEP) president and rebel AAP MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira has claimed that continuation of SAD-BJP era DGP in Punjab reflected that Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh was acting at the behest of Modi government. Both of them were close to DGP Suresh Arora and further investigation in this case was blocked," alleged Khaira. Names of ADGP Dinkar Gupta and former SSP of Moga Rajjit Singh had cropped up during investigation in the drug case of dismissed police inspector Inderjit Singh. "Amarinder is toeing the line of BJP government to save his son-in-law Gurpal Singh against whom fraud case of Rs200 crore is registered by CBI and Enforcement Directorate . He also held that BJP was pursuing its anti-Punjab and anti-Sikh policies through Captain Amarinder Singh who had been toeing their line, language and policies on every issue.

He has also alleged that National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval is using both Punjab CM and DGP Arora for 'political motives' of BJP and they are following his directions.Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Khaira alleged that Arora was getting extensions at the behest of Doval and Punjab CM had no will to oppose it as sword was hanging over his kin booked by central agencies in serious cases of financial irregularities. "Amarinder is toeing the line of BJP government to save his son-in-law Gurpal Singh against whom fraud case of Rs200 crore is registered by CBI and Enforcement Directorate . Even CM’s son Raninder Singh is facing a case filed by Income Tax department in Ludhiana court," he said.“Amarinder Singh’s government has been incapacitated by BJP and he is being forced to run the state machinery under same DGP who is top manager of 'flop-show' of Parkash Singh Badal government," Khaira said. He also held that BJP was pursuing its anti-Punjab and anti-Sikh policies through Captain Amarinder Singh who had been toeing their line, language and policies on every issue. "Home department of Punjab is being run from Delhi, he quipped.Terming the extension illegitimate, Khaira said this extension also reflected lack of incompetence and leadership in Punjab Police "Congress has borrowed Suresh Arora from Shiromani Akali Dakl(SAD) since he was choice of SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal and remained mute spectator to all wrong doings of Badals' including protection of guilty police officers responsible for Behbal Kalan killings. Names of ADGP Dinkar Gupta and former SSP of Moga Rajjit Singh had cropped up during investigation in the drug case of dismissed police inspector Inderjit Singh. Both of them were close to DGP Suresh Arora and further investigation in this case was blocked," alleged Khaira. He said that this approach on Rajjit and other cops perfectly matched with suspension of Congress against its MLA Kulbir Singh Zira for speaking out against nexus of police officers and drug mafia. "It is evident from the allegations made by Zira that present DGP has always been reluctant to take action against his favourite tainted officers," he added. He said that ADGP Hapreet Sidhu, who was initially made head of Special Task Force(STF) and DGP S. Chatopadhya who tried to unmask the officers involved in shady deals, were snubbed.
