AMBALA: The district police, acting on a complaint of 17-year-old girl who studies in Class X and is a resident of Ambala , booked an accused under various charges of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Indian Penal Code (IPC) as the survivor girl alleged rape after causing hurt by means of intoxicants. The cops said the accused was arrested on February 11.As per the information, the girl accused an identified accused of sexually assaulting her after giving some sort of toxic tablets. The cops disclosed that the mother of the girl had an illicit relationship with the accused. As both used to work at the same saloon in Ambala, they developed relationship.Earlier, the husband of the woman complained against his wife alleging criminal breach of trust. On February 11, the Ambala Child Welfare Committee (CWC) came to know about this matter after the cops presented the survivor girl for counseling in front of the committee.A member of CWC told TOI, “We have written to the police for addition of mother’s name in the FIR as the crimes took place with her connivance. We have counseled the survivor girl who has alleged that she was drugged for three-four days and was sexually assaulted. Even on the day of counseling, when she visited our office, she seemed to be in inebriated condition. The girl also disclosed that she often witnessed that in the night she wore different clothes while in the morning she was wearing others.”The sources said, when the matter was investigated further, it came forward that the accused developed an illicit relationship with the mother of the girl and started visiting her home. As the girl also used to be at the home, the accused started drugging the girl with some sought of toxic tablets in order to meet her mother. Sources said, whenever some family member used to come at home, the accused used to hide himself in the bed box at the woman's house.In her complaint to the police, the girl alleged that, “I was usually drugged by the accused and whenever I used to come to my senses, my clothes were changed. The accused has raped me in an unconscious state after drugging me with some tablets.”Investigation officer in this case told TOI, “On February 11, the accused has been arrested in this case. He was taken on one-day police remand and after the completion of interrogation he has been sent to the judicial custody as per court order. During the interrogation the accused has confessed to the crime. The CWC would also be submitting a document in this matter and further investigation is being done. On February 10, a case under sections 4 (punishment for penetrative sexual assault ) and 12 (punishment for sexual harassment) of the POCSO Act and 328 (causing hurt by means of poison, etc., with intent to commit an offence), 376 (punishment for rape), and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered."
