The Animal Welfare Association, Panchkula is looking into the matter. The incident took place on Sunday evening after the complainant, heard cries of the dog. A DDR (no 9) has been filed on Sunday. We are supporting the complainant as it is an offence to kill a dog under Section 11(1)(1) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.”According to Sandeep, the act of disposing off the dog's body has been captured on CCTV camera (footage is with TOI). “Eye witnesses who came out on hearing the cries of the dog, also claimed to have seen the dog being beaten to death. The dog was then loaded in a red sedan’s boot and was disposed of somewhere else,” said Meenakshi. However, she alleged inaction by the police. “We are pursuing the case, but cops are yet to initiate any action to recover the dog's body and book the culprits for cruelty.
