According to the police, the woman had reported to the police that the suspect had threatened her with dire consequences on July 15.

BRIEFLY Chandigarh: A bag containing Rs 30,000 and valuables was stolen from a car parked near a temple in the Industrial Area, Phase II. According to the police, complainant Udayan Rai, a resident of Sector 8, reported that a bag containing cash, a mobile phone, a cheque, pen and some documents was stolen from his car while it was parked near the Shiva temple on July 15. The police were informed who registered a case of theft at the Sector 31 police station. TNS Woman’s mobile phone snatched Panchkula: A mobile phone was snatched from a woman while she was taking a stroll behind her house in Sector 11 here. Rinku Madan, a resident of Sector 11, in her complaint to the police, said she was talking on her mobile phone around 7.45 pm when suddenly a youth, aged around 20 years, his face covered with a helmet, appeared from behind and snatching her phone. She said she tried to chase him, but he managed to escape. The Sector 5 police have registered a case under Section 379A of the Indian Penal Code. TNS Youth’s body recovered Ambala: The body of Rohit (21), a resident of Sambhalkha village, who drowned in the seasonal Amri river on Monday evening was recovered on Tuesday. The body was taken to the Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantonment, for post-mortem examination. According to information, Rohit, along with three other youths, was strolling near the river when he decided to take bath. Other youths said Rohit jumped into the river, but didn’t come out. His body was fished out of the river on Tuesday morning. TNS Ambala: The district police have arrested Jaswinder Singh for abducting and gang-raping a woman, officials said here on Tuesday. However, one of his accomplices is still on the run. According to the police, Jaswinder, along with one of his accomplices, had abducted a woman and gang-raped her after drugging her in Naraingarh on July 13. The victim, after regaining consciousness, reported the matter to the Naraingarh women police station, which registered a case of abduction and rape against both suspects and arrested one of them, said the officials. Jaswinder will be produced before a court on Wednesday, while the hunt was on to arrest his absconding accomplice. TNS 2 snatchers land in police net Ambala: The district police have arrested two snatchers and claimed to have solved a snatching incident reported from Ambala City on July 15, officials said here on Tuesday. According to the police, Jatin, alias Janu, and Sahil of Ambala City had snatched a woman’s bag containing cash and Aadhaar card from near the Polytechnic Chowk. Both suspects were produced before a court, which sent them to one-day police custody, the officials added. TNS Man arrested for issuing threat Ambala: The district police have arrested Ram Parkash of Khanpur village in Barara for threatening a woman with dire consequences, officials said here on Tuesday. According to the police, the woman had reported to the police that the suspect had threatened her with dire consequences on July 15. Ram Parkash was sent to judicial remand by a court. TNS 18-year-old girl goes missing Ambala: An 18-year-old girl has reportedly gone missing from her home here, the police said here on Tuesday. Vinod Kumar of Ambala City had reported to the police that his teenaged daughter had left home on July 14, but did not return, the officials said. They said a missing report had been lodged. TNS Challan filed against 17 people Ambala: The police have filed a challan against 17 people in connection with a complaint filed by Anti-Terrorist Front India’s president Viresh Shandilya. Viresh claimed “They had attempted to set my office on fire on June 6 last year. They had burnt the boards installed outside the office and also attempted to set the office on fire. However, they failed in their attempt. After investigation, the challan has been filed by the police against Harpal, Sukhdev, Ranbir, Charanjeet, Ravinder and 12 others in the court of CJM in Ambala.” A case was registered under Sections 435, 427 and 506 of the IPC at the Ambala City police station and the matter was investigated by the Kaithal police.
