Onam, Bhanu triumph

Tribune News ServiceChandigarh, September 18Manipur’s Onam Pakpi Devi clinched the gold medal in the girls’ jianshu competition on the third day of the Wushu National Championship at Panjab University here today. Madhya Pradesh’s Archi Soni bagged the silver, while Uttar Pradesh’s Rasgmi Gupta had to be content with the bronze medal. Uttar Pradesh’s Bhanu Singh, Priyam Jain of Madhya Pradesh and Punjab’s Harshit Sharma won the top-three positions, respectively, in the boys’ jianshu contest. Chandigarh’s Anju Kumari, Vasvi Gour and Shubam won their respective quarterfinal matches in the sanda category on Wednesday. The semifinals and finals in the sanda category will be held tomorrow, said the organisers.
