In another match, Stepping Stones Senior Secondary School, Sector 37, registered a 3-1 win over Moti Ram Arya School, Sector 27. Earlier in the day, Mount Carmel School, Sector 47, beat St Kabir School, Sector 26, 3-2 on penalties. Ashiana Public School, Sector 46, humbles St Mary’s School, Sector 46, 2-0, while St Xavier’s School, Sector 44, thrashed GMSSS, Sarangpur, 4-0. GMSSS, Sector 8, bagged the silver, while GMSSS, Sector 15, returned home with the bronze medal.

Anish struck in the 10th and 20th minutes after Sarthak Arora had put the side 1-0 up in the 5th minute. Kabir scored the fourth goal for St John’s in the 35th minute. In another match, Stepping Stones Senior Secondary School, Sector 37, registered a 3-1 win over Moti Ram Arya School, Sector 27. Dhruv (25th, 35th) scored a double, while Kabir (37th) struck once for Stepping Stones. Abhay (30th) was the lone scorer for Moti Ram School. Earlier in the day, Mount Carmel School, Sector 47, beat St Kabir School, Sector 26, 3-2 on penalties. Harmanjot, Vishu and Narun scored for Mount Carmel, while only Rushil and Jahgur converted their chances for St Kabir. DPS beat GMSSS-10 In the boys’ U-17 category, Delhi Public School, Sector 40, beat Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 10, 1-0 1. Kirat (23rd) scored the solitary goal of the match. Ashiana Public School, Sector 46, humbles St Mary’s School, Sector 46, 2-0, while St Xavier’s School, Sector 44, thrashed GMSSS, Sarangpur, 4-0. Thanakovn, Waltichar, Tevamat and Palket scored a goal each for St Xavier’s. GMSSS-10 fencers triumph GMSSS, Sector 10, meanwhile, topped the podium in the boys’ U-19 epee competition on the opening day of the inter-school fencing championship here on Thursday. Chitkara boys finished second, while GMSSS, Sector 15, occupied the third spot. GMSSS, Sector 8, bagged the fourth position. GMSSS, Sector 10, fencers also won the gold medal in the sabre contest. GMSSS, Sector 8, bagged the silver, while GMSSS, Sector 15, returned home with the bronze medal. GMHS-34 spikers shine Government Model High School (GMHS), Sector 34, drubbed GMSSS, Sector 26, 25-12 25-11 25-16 to win the girls’ U-17 inter-school volleyball tournament. Tender Heart School, Sector 33, finished third after beating GMSSS, Mani Majra Housing Complex, 25-6 25-7 25-6 in the playoff. In the boys’ U-17 category, GMSSS, Sector 26, defeated GMHS, Sector 26, 23-25 25-18 24-16 26-24 15-5 to set up the title clash with DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8. DAV boys rallied to beat GMSSS, Sector 28, 20-25 25-11 25-16 25-19 in the semifinals.
