The deceased has been identified as Om Prakash of Bapu Dham Colony in Chandigarh. An unidentified vehicle hit his bike (CH01BD-2029) from behind when he reached near the T-point, Industrial Area, Phase 2, Sector 19. Panwar said his brother fell off the bike while the driver of the unidentified vehicle sped away. Om Prakash is survived by his wife and three children.

Was returning to his home at Bapu Dham Colony on bike Panchkula, December 1 A man was killed after his bike was hit by an unidentified vehicle in Sector 19 here. The deceased has been identified as Om Prakash of Bapu Dham Colony in Chandigarh. The victim’s brother Vikram Panwar said Om Prakash owned a dhaba at Dhakoli and the incident occurred when he was on his way back home on November 29 around 11:45 pm. An unidentified vehicle hit his bike (CH01BD-2029) from behind when he reached near the T-point, Industrial Area, Phase 2, Sector 19. Panwar said his brother fell off the bike while the driver of the unidentified vehicle sped away. The victim was rushed to the Civil Hospital in Sector 6 where doctors declared him brought dead. The body was handed over to the victim’s family after postmortem examination. Om Prakash is survived by his wife and three children. A case under Section 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and 304-A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the driver of the offending vehicle at the Section 20 police station. A police official said they would scrutinise the footage of CCTV cameras installed near the spot to identify the vehicle that hit the victim’s bike.
