Indian men defeat England 54-36

Vinay Khatri scripted the Indian team’s win by contributing 10 points, while Mal Singh and Navjot Jota scored nine points each. In the second match, the Canadian team beat the United States of America 53-26 to win their second match of the tournament. India will now play their second match against Sri Lanka on December 4 at Guru Ram Das Sports Stadium Guru Harshaya (Ferozepur). On December 5, the Indian team will face Australia and the United States of America will take on Kenya.

Chandigarh, December 3 India defeated England 54-36 in their opening match of the International Kabaddi Tournament in Amritsar today. Vinay Khatri scripted the Indian team’s win by contributing 10 points, while Mal Singh and Navjot Jota scored nine points each. Jagmohan Makhi (7 points) and Kanwaljit (5 points) also made key contributions in the win. For England, Gurdeep Singh Deepa (10 points), Ranjit Singh (8 points) and Gurchetan (7 points) die their best to keep up with the hosts, but their efforts came in a lost cause. In the second match, the Canadian team beat the United States of America 53-26 to win their second match of the tournament. The tournament is being organised by the Punjab Government to mark the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. In the previous matches, England defeated Sri Lanka 66-21 at Guru Nanak Stadium, in Sultanpur Lodhi. In the second match of the day, Canada humbled down Kenya 57-30, while United States of America faced a tough resistance before logging a 48-42 win over New Zealand. India will now play their second match against Sri Lanka on December 4 at Guru Ram Das Sports Stadium Guru Harshaya (Ferozepur). England will face Australia and Canada will lock horns with New Zealand on the same day. On December 5, the Indian team will face Australia and the United States of America will take on Kenya.
