Vinay Khatri scripted the Indian team’s win by contributing 10 points, while Mal Singh and Navjot Jota scored nine points each.
In the second match, the Canadian team beat the United States of America 53-26 to win their second match of the tournament.
India will now play their second match against Sri Lanka on December 4 at Guru Ram Das Sports Stadium Guru Harshaya (Ferozepur).
On December 5, the Indian team will face Australia and the United States of America will take on Kenya.
