1 35L health insurance cards prepared in Mohali dist Minister

Out of this 1.35 lakh cards have already been prepared. Disclosing this here today Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu said the work of preparing cards for registered families and farmers holding J forms under the Public Health Insurance Scheme in Mohali district was in full swing. A spokesperson for the District Health Department said in order to expedite the process the cards were being made by setting up camps in streets and mohallas in urban areas and villages of the district. The spokesperson said various teams of a company named Vidal had been authorised by the state health agency to make this card.

A spokesperson for the District Health Department said in order to expedite the process the cards were being made by setting up camps in streets and mohallas in urban areas and villages of the district. He said the work of making cards had also been started in market committee offices at Lalru Dera Bassi Banur Kharar and Kurali while the work at major government health institutions and common service centres was in progress as earlier. It is pertinent to mention here that under the Sehat Bima Yojana the needy registered families are provided free treatment facility of Rs5 lakh in government and recognised hospitals. This facility is also provided for the treatment of several serious ailments such as heart disease knee replacement eye surgery obstetrics cancer etc. According to the plan a total of 1579 diseases including Covid are being treated free of cost. The spokesperson said various teams of a company named Vidal had been authorised by the state health agency to make this card. The agency was charging Rs30 per card. The spokesperson appealed to the people to coordinate with the municipal councillor sarpanch or ASHA worker of their areas to get the card issued.
