SC dismisses plea seeking stay

Tribune News ServiceMohali January 29The Supreme Court today dismissed a petition filed by two local residents seeking stay on the MC elections. The SC division Bench of Chief Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde Justice AS Bopanna and Justice V Ramasubramanian while upholding the orders of the Punjab and Haryana High Court issued these orders after hearing the petition filed by the petitioners challenging the dismissal orders of the HC. Sukhdev Singh Patwari Bachan Singh and others had filed the petition challenging the delimitation of wards in the Municipal Corporation. The High Court had dismissed the petition on December 16 last year.
