Tribune News Service Panchkula January 29 After going on the back foot in the wake of the Republic Day violence local farmers resumed their protest at the Chandimandir toll plaza this afternoon while allowing free passage to vehicles. Farmers said they would remain at the site until three black laws were taken back. After remaining closed for more than a month the toll plaza had begun operations on January 28 around 11 am. Farmers however once again blocked the toll plaza around 2:45 pm this afternoon. Farmers have also been protesting at the Naggal toll plaza in Barwala. Karam Singh a block-level BKU leader said they had decided to send more farmers to Delhi borders to join the ongoing agitation against farm laws. “Anti-social elements tried to weaken the ongoing farmers movement but Rakesh Tikaits emotional appeal re-energised protests. Farmers will continue with their peaceful agitation” he said. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Mohit Kumar Handa couldnt be contacted for his comments.
