Mohali: In view of the larger public interest and the latest guidelines by the Department of Home Punjab Girish Dayalan District Magistrate has issued orders for the imposition of restrictions from March 1 in Mohali. A ceiling of 100 and 200 persons on indoor and outdoor gatherings respectively shall be strictly enforced. The police authorities/Commissioner MC/SDMS and all EOs of the MC have been directed to continue to ensure strict implementation of all directives including the social distancing norm of minimum 6-feet distance regulating crowds in markets and public transport and imposition of penalties prescribed for the violation of Covid-appropriate behaviour such as wearing of face masks and spitting in public. Any violation of these guidelines shall be punishable under Sections 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005 and relevant sections of the IPC. TNS Man held with fake arms ammo Zirakpur: The police arrested a man for making and selling counterfeit arms and ammunition here on Wednesday. The suspect has been identified as Narinder Singh of Sector 38 Chandigarh. He was involved in making fake parts of various weapons. Cops nabbed him at a checkpost in Zirakpur when he was going to deliver weapon parts. They recovered 805 magazines a magazine case and 45 plastic magazine covers from the suspect. A case has been registered against the suspect. TNS Mans body found hanging from tree Mohali: Mahender Kumar (40) was found hanging from a tree near his rented accommodation in Balongi on Wednesday. The police said it was a case of suspected suicide. The incident came to light around 7 am.
