The sources said the masked youths appeared to be from UP as could be made out through their conversation with the victims. The SP (Rural) Dr Ravjot Grewal said: “A majority of the loot has been that of jewellery and the cash is only Rs20000. We have formed teams and the police are actively pursuing the case. The suspects will be arrested soon.” The police officials investigating the case did not confirm or deny whether any arrest had been made in the case but sources said a few individuals were rounded up yesterday. The CCTV footage of the house and nearby areas has captured the incident and the sources said the registration numbers of the two motorcycles used in the crime had been traced. The four robbers armed with swords and guns arrived on two bikes around 11.30 am yesterday and after taking the family members and the maid hostage searched the house for about two and a half hours. They fled with cash silver and gold jewellery. The victim Jaidev Goyal said he had retired from the post of DGM of Union Bank and was now working as an assistant manager at Muthoot Finance in Sector 35 Chandigarh. He said at the time of the incident he was on his way to his office and his 60-year-old wife Naresh Rani 40-year-old son Kapil Goyal and a maid were present in the house.
