Election strategist Prashant Kishor has resigned as an advisor to Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.

Election strategist Prashant Kishor has resigned as an advisor to Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. He resigned stating that in view of his decision to take temporary leave from active role in public life, he is not able to handle the responsibilities as Principal Advisor to CM. He requested the Captain to relieve him of this responsibility.

Prashant Kishor has given this resignation at a time when assembly elections are due in Punjab next year. Prashant Kishor became the principal advisor to Amarinder Singh and got the status of a cabinet minister on March 1 this year. Giving information about his decision, Prashant Kishor has told CM Amarinder Singh, "In view of my decision to take temporary leave from active role in public life, I am not able to handle the responsibilities as your `Principal Advisor`. I request you to kindly relieve me of this responsibility.
