Haryana Cong forms committees, assign responsibilities to leaders for Bharat Jodo Yatra

Chandigarh, Dec 7 (PTI) The Haryana Congress on Wednesday constituted 14 different committees and also assigned responsibilities of party leaders for the Bharat Jodo Yatra which will enter the state on December 21.The Haryana unit of the Congress on Wednesday held a meeting for the preparations of the yatra led by former party chief Rahul Gandhi.Newly appointed Haryana Congress in-charge Shakti Singh Gohil, former chief minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda, party"s state president Chaudhary Udai Bhan, Rajya Sabha MP Deepender Singh Hooda, among other party leaders attended the meeting.Gohil called on the leaders and workers present to make the Bharat Jodo Yatra a grand success."Rahul Gandhi has set out on a journey with a positive message, to stop the divisive policies of the BJP. He has started an effort to unite India. That is why the public is feeling an emotional connection with this yatra," he said.Bhan said he has formed 14 separate committees for the management of the Yatra and coordinators of all 22 districts had been appointed.The Haryana leg of the Yatra will be held in two phases, said Bhan.The yatra will enter Haryana from Firozpur Jhirka and move via Sohna, Barkhal and Faridabad, he said.A party leader said during the first phase, the yatra will be in Haryana from December 21 till 23.The second phase of yatra is expected to commence on January 7 or 8 from Panipat, said the leader.Bhan and party leader Deepender Singh Hooda will hold meetings at the district level to ensure that plans for the yatra are implemented effectively.Deepender said the BJP had conspired to tarnish the image of Rahul Gandhi, but he is still moving ahead with pure soul and positive purpose."His attempt to unite India will definitely be successful. This yatra will bridge that gap which has been dug by BJP in the society in the name of rich-poor and caste-religion," he stated.Earlier, Gohil gave a message of solidarity to the party leaders and urged all leaders to express their opinions on appropriate party forums."Indiscipline will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The Congress is the only party which can work in the interest of the country and the state. The historic work done by the Bhupinder Singh Hooda government in Haryana is still cited as an example across the country," he said. PTI CHS VSD TDS TDS
