Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday said that the state government is making strenuous efforts for making Punjab a debt free state, progressive and prosperous state. Addressing the gathering during Sarkar Vyapaar Milni here on Monday, Mann said that the state has inherited a debt due to misdeeds of the previous governments. However, he said that his government will make all out efforts to bail out the state from the crisis for which concerted efforts are being made. He said the budget of two years reflects good things unfolding in the state in terms of enhanced revenue collection adding that this tempo will continue in coming days too.  Mann said that Punjab is witnessing these types of functions for the first time, adding that for the first time traders have become integral part in decision making to put the state in path of high trajectory. He said that today new schools, hospitals are being coming up, free power is given to 90% households, jobs have been given to more than 43000 jobs and others due to the good intentions of the government, adding that this was lacking during the earlier regimes due to which the state has lagged behind in progress.  The Chief Minister said that the budget of this year is a roadmap for a progressive and vibrant Punjab as the people of state have ousted the political parties that used to play musical chairs of power to loot them after every five years. He said that his government has been given a chance by people to serve them and they will work hard to fulfil their expectations.  Mann asked the opposition to shun criticism for the sake of criticism and allow them to work for the well being of Punjab. Mann said that the credit of transforming the politics and bringing common man on the agenda of the political parties goes to Arvind Kejriwal. He said that instead of Sankalp Pattars or election manifestos, the political parties are now giving guarantees of welfare to the people. Mann said that he had always been a votary of making the manifesto of any party into a legal document so that political parties may not dupe the common man. He said that every single penny from the state exchequer is being spent on the well being of the people and called upon people to ensure victory of the party on all the 13 Lok Sabha seats so that he can effectively combat the discriminatory policies of the Union government. Mann said that the hands of AAP needs to strengthen by giving 13-0 to the parties adding that these 13 MPs, when elected, will give fillip to the development and progress of the state.
