/ Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the 19 km long Haryana section of the 8-lane Dwarka Expressway in a function held at Gurugram. An important part of the 60,000 crore Delhi decongestion plan, Indias First Elevated Urban Expressway is designed to ease congestion on existing NH-48 and provide smoother traffic flow between Delhi and Gurugram. The Prime Minister also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 114 National Highway Projects for different States worth about One Lakh crores. Modi  laid the foundation stone for the Shamli-Ambala National Highway costing Rs. 4890 crore, which will span 43 kilometers. Additionally, he also laid the foundation stone of Bhiwani-Hansi Road (including four bypasses and widening and strengthening), costing Rs. 1330 crore. Furthermore, he inaugurated two projects of Dwarka Expressway costing Rs. 4087 crore.    The 10.2 km long package-III of the 8-lane access control Dwarka Expressway connects Delhi-Haryana border to Basai in Haryana. This package has 8.6 km of elevated section with a width of 34 meters and is a part of Indias first eight-lane elevated road constructed on single pier. In addition to the 8-lane main carriageway, the width of the service road varies from 4 lanes to 14 lanes in this package. The expressway also features traffic signal-free lanes, four vehicular underpasses, and an elevated service road at five major junctions, providing uninterrupted traffic movement. In addition, 12 subways, footpaths, and cycle tracks have been provided on both sides for the convenience of pedestrians. One entry/ exit point has been provided for local traffic on the expressway. A drainage facility along with rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge has also been provided on the entire stretch. The 8.7 km long package IV of the 8-lane Dwarka Expressway connects Basai to Kherki Daula cloverleaf interchange. This package has 3.7 km of elevated section with a width of 34 meters and is a part of Indias first eight-lane elevated road constructed on single pier. The width of the service road varies from 4 lanes to 10 lanes. The section also features one of the widest railway-over-bridge in India with 16 lanes as well as one of the longest Bow Spring Steel Bridge of 125-metre length. The Clover leaf interchange at Kherki Daula is among the largest in the country with more than two km circumferential length. The Cloverleaf provides seamless connectivity in all directions with the existing Delhi-Jaipur Highway on NH-48. All roads are traffic signal free and three vehicular underpasses have been provided for uninterrupted traffic movement. On the occasion, the Prime Minister reminisced about old memories.  He recalled that when he used to come to Haryana with CM Manohar Lal Khattar, he had a motorcycle and they would travel from Rohtak to Gurugram with him sitting behind. There were small roads but today, the entire Gurugram region is connected to several major national highways, including expressways, which reflects the progressive mindset of the Chief Minister. Modi underscored the significance of projects such as the Dwarka Expressway in fostering industrial growth and connectivity in the region. He praised Chief Minister Khattars pivotal role in realizing these initiatives, affirming his unwavering commitment to Haryanas development agenda.  Khattar expressed gratitude to Modi for the road projects and said that the Prime Minister has a special attachment with Haryana and with the support of the central government, today Haryana is writing a new saga of development. The Chief Minister said that while both the centre and the state governments have paid special attention towards infrastructural development, now dedicated efforts are being made towards the revival of cultural and religious heritage. Despite being only 2 percent of the countrys population, Haryana is making significant contributions to the nations development, Khattar added. On the occasion, Khattar assured the Prime Minister that in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections Haryana will certainly win all 10 seats. Earlier,  Modi led a road show along the Dwarka Expressway. Upon the Prime Ministers road show reaching near Basai village, Prime Minister Modi, Chief Minister Khattar, and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari were greeted with a warm reception as flowers were showered upon them. Hundreds had gathered for this road show, with chants resonating such as "Bharat Mata ki Jai," "Jai Shri Ram," and "Modi Modi."
