Fatal encounter b/w Punjab Police, gangster claims constable`s life, Manhunt underway

An encounter between Punjab Police and gangsters in Hoshiarpur districts Mukerian subdivision on Sunday resulted in the untimely demise of a dedicated and young Punjab Police constable. The tragic incident unfolded when a police team, including Constable Amritpal Singh, was dispatched to Mansoorwal village to apprehend a notorious gangster, Sukhwinder Singh alias Rana Mansoorpuria, known to be operating in the area. However, what was meant to be a routine operation quickly escalated into a violent confrontation.   As the police team approached Mansoorwal village, they were met with unexpected resistance from the gangster, who opened fire indiscriminately. In the chaos that ensued, Constable Amritpal Singh was struck by gunfire, sustaining critical injuries. Despite immediate medical attention and being rushed to the hospital, the constable succumbed to his injuries due to severe blood loss.   Constable Amritpal Singh, aged 35, was a valued member of the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) staff in Hoshiarpur. Described as dedicated and committed to upholding the law, his untimely demise has left a void in the hearts of his colleagues and loved ones.   Following the tragic incident, Hoshiarpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Surendra Lamba, along with a team of officers, swiftly mobilized to the scene to assess the situation and initiate further action. The priority now is to apprehend the assailant responsible for the fatal shooting. A comprehensive manhunt has been launched to track down the perpetrator, with law enforcement agencies coordinating efforts to bring the culprit to justice.   Deputy Superintendent of Police Vipan Kumar said that a gangster was injured during a prompt response by the police. Following the altercation, the gangster fled the crime scene after discarding his weapon. The entire area has been sealed off as search operation continues, with police combing through homes and fields surrounding the crime scene. Approximately 10 firearms have been recovered from the vicinity.   DSP Kumar informed that a separate FIR would be filed in the matter, incorporating various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Section 302, and the Arms Act.   The police informed that the gangster Rana Mansoorpuria originally hails from Mansoorpur village in Mukerian, and is facing charges under various sections, including arms trafficking, in Hoshiarpur.   The Hoshiarpur police have announced a reward of Rs 25,000 for information leading to the arrest of gangster Rana Mansoorpuria. The suspect was last seen wearing a white kurta and pajamas. An alert has been issued across the State, with the suspects photo circulated to police stations in every district. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the suspect.
