Considering the heat wave, Haryana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Anurag Agarwal on Sunday said that all Deputy Commissioners-cum-District Electoral Officers (DEOs) have been given special directions to ensure the provision of additional resources at polling centres in their respective districts, including arrangements for cold water, coolers-fans, and tents.   Similarly, arrangements will be made for wheelchairs and shades for the assistance of voters over 85 years of age and persons with disability (PwD) voters, along with volunteers, informed Agrawal.   Agarwal said that the voter turnout in the previous Lok Sabha elections was 70 percent, and this time, the target is set to increase it to at least 75 percent. For this, several unique initiatives have been undertaken by the department, including launching the Voter in Queue app, sending polling invitations to voters akin to wedding invitations, and setting up 31 polling booths in the multi-storey societies of Global City Gurugram.   CEO further said that the election notification will be issued from April 29 onwards, and the fate of the candidates contesting the election will be decided by 1,99,81,982 voters across the states 10 Lok Sabha constituencies.   He said that in the Ambala assembly constituency, there are 10,51,443 male voters, 9,35,635 female voters, and 76 transgender voters. Similarly, in the Kurukshetra Lok Sabha constituency, there are 9,38,029 male voters, 8,50,439 female voters, and 23 transgender voters, while in the Sirsa Lok Sabha constituency, there are 10,20,510 male voters, 9,11,339 female voters, and 41 transgender voters.   Agarwal further informed that in Hisar Lok Sabha constituency, there are 9,52,598 male voters, 8,32,569 female voters, and 11 transgender voters, in Karnal Lok Sabha constituency, there are 11,03,606 male voters, 9,92,721 female voters, and 37 transgender voters, and in the Sonipat Lok Sabha constituency, there are 9,40,969 male voters, 8,20,483 female voters, and 44 transgender voters.   Agarwal said that the number of voters in Rohtak Lok Sabha constituency is 18,83,383, out of which 9,96,702 are male, 8,86,660 female and 21 are transgender registered voters. Similarly, there are a total of 17,86,942 registered voters in Bhiwani-Mahendragarh Lok Sabha constituency, out of which 9,42,692 are male, 8,44,237 are female and 13 are transgender voters.   He said that the Gurugram Lok Sabha constituency has maximum number of voters of 25,46,916, of which 13,47,521 are male, 11,99,317 are female and 78 are transgender voters, whereas in Faridabad Lok Sabha constituency, the number of voters is 24,14,168, of which 13,10,206 male, 11,03,844 female, and 118 transgender voters.   Agarwal further said that in the festival of democracy, every voter must exercise their voting rights and contribute their share. For this, every voter should ensure that their name is listed in the voter list. Only the voter whose name is in the voter list can exercise their voting rights, he said, while clarifying that if a voters name is in the voter list but they do not have an EPIC, they can still cast their vote by showing one of the alternative documents specified by the Election Commission.   Even if a voter has an old EPIC card, they can still vote, provided their name is listed in that areas voter list. If a voters name is not in the voter list and they show their Aadhar card, Voter ID card, or any other identity document at the polling center to vote, they will not be allowed to vote. Any voter can only vote when their name is registered in the voter list, he said.   Agarwal informed that besides EPIC, voters can also cast their votes using alternative photo identity documents specified by the Election Commission. These documents include passport, driving license, Service identity card issued to employees by Central, State governments, Public Sector Undertakings or Public Limited Companies, Passbook issued by bank or post office with photo, PAN card, Smart Card issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labour, MNREGA Job card, Health Insurance Smart Card issued under the scheme of Ministry of Labour, Pension document with photo, Official Identity Card issued to MPs, MLAs, MLCs and Aadhar card.   The voters in Haryana can quickly and easily obtain information about their vote on the website of the Chief Electoral Officer of Haryana — https://ceoharyana.gov.in/.
