 Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold two rallies in Himachal Pradesh on Friday. He will address a public meeting in favor of Suresh Kashyap in Nahan of Shimla parliamentary constituency and Kangana Ranaut in Mandi. BJP -in -charge Sanjay Sood of Shimla parliamentary constituency said that there is a lot of enthusiasm among the workers about the rally.   Sood said eight thousand workers from Shimla will attend Nahans rally. He said that a target has been set to gather 40 thousand workers in the rally. He claimed that the BJP will win all four seats by a big margin. In such a situation, Prime Minister Modis rally will raise new enthusiasm among the workers and voters.       Defence Minister Rajnath Singh bats for one nation, one election at Karnal rally Karnal: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh batted for one nation, one election and said that the BJP has initiated steps in this field and it will implement it. While addressing a gathering at Gharaunda grain market, he accused the AAP and Congress of betraying Anna Hazare and Mahatma Gandhi. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had said that he would not form a party, but he did. Leaders of both parties are involved in corruption. Our government has taken steps to eradicate corruption and give powers to the Enforcement Directorate and Central Bureau of Investigation. Previously, these agencies were not permitted to use their power, he said, adding that Kejriwal would go to jail. The Defence Minister praised the former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for good governance. Heat wave Punjab BJP chief Jakhar seeks extension in polling hours Chandigarh: Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar on Wednesday wrote to the Election Commission, seeking an extension in voting time by two hours in the state in the wake of searing heat.  He sought that polling be allowed from 6 am to 7 pm.  Polling across the country is normally held from 7 am to 6 pm.  Polling for 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab will be held on June 1.   In his letter to the Election Commission of India, Jakhar said, "With the final phase of general elections scheduled for June 1, Punjab will be experiencing an intense heat wave, making it extremely challenging for voters to cast their votes during the peak sunny hours. The intense heat wave will pose health risks, particularly to vulnerable groups such as the elderly and children."  "To ensure higher voter turnout and safeguard public health, I, on behalf of BJP Punjab, request that the voting hours be extended to include cooler periods of day and the voting be allowed from 6 am to 7 pm," the BJP leader said. Priyanka Gandhi to hold roadshow in Sirsa today Sirsa: Congress candidate from Sirsa Lok Sabha Constituency Kumari Selja on Wednesday said that Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi will hold a roadshow in Sirsa on Thursday. She said that the roadshow will start at 8:30 AM in front of Shri Shyam Bagichi in Anaj Mandi and will proceed through various routes, concluding at Sangwan Chowk. ECI appoints new Police Commissioners of Ludhiana and Jalandhar Chandigarh: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has appointed Nilabh Kishore, IPS 1998 Batch (currently posted as ADGP STF Punjab, Shahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar),  as Police Commissioner Ludhiana and Rahul S, IPS 2008 Batch (currently posted as DIG-cum- Director Vigilance Bureau Punjab, Shahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), as Police Commissioner Jalandhar. A letter has been sent to the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab by ECI in this regard.  Earlier, the police commissioners of Jalandhar and Ludhiana were transferred from their current posts to non-election duties, a spokesperson of the office of the Chief Electoral Officer said. In a letter to the Chief Secretary of Punjab, the EC directed that the two officers be assigned to non-election-related duties. Jalandhar Police Commissioner (2009-batch IPS officer) Swapan Sharma and Ludhiana Police Commissioner (2009-batch IPS officer) Kuldeep Chahal have been transferred from their present posts, the spokesperson said.
