11-yr-old dies of head injury after toy train overturns at Elante mall in Chd; One held

In a freak accident, an 11-year-old boy died after a toy train he was riding on at Nexus Elante Mall overturned on Saturday night (June 22). The child, who was taking a ride on the toy train, fell and suffered head injuries. The victim was admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh where he expired during treatment. The deceased, who has been identified as Shahbaz Singh, native of Punjab, had come to the mall with his family. Police rushed to the accident site after being informed. Police have impounded the toy train. In the statement, UT Chandigarh Police said that the accused Sourav was arrested and later on bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress, they added. According to police, a case  under section 304-A of IPC has been registered in Police Station Industrial Area, Chandigarh on the complaint of Jatinder Pal Singh, resident of Village-Siana, Nawashahar, Punjab against Sourav and management of pixie land company, Elante Mall. Complainants nephew Shahbaj was seated in the train and the bogie of the train overturned and his nephew got injured and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh where he expired during treatment, police added. In the statement, Nexus Elante spokesperson said, We were informed about the unfortunate incident involving one of the service providers working on our premises. Our Emergency Response Team rushed the victim to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, and the local police station was informed immediately. We are fully cooperating with the local authorities in this regard and deeply sympathise with the family.
