One Nation, One Election Vision Reflects National Unity, Says Haryana CM at Gurugram Run

  • | Tuesday | 3rd June, 2025

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, addressing the gathering during the Gurugram Run organized on the theme of One Nation, One Election on Sunday, said that the idea is not merely a political concept but a vision rooted in national interest. He said that the initiative aimed at optimizing time, resources, and public participation. When a nation moves forward together, it can overcome every challenge. A unified nation can find solutions to every crisis, he remarked.   Describing One Nation, One Election as a reflection of Prime Minister Narendra Modis vision for national unity, Saini called it part of the broader dream of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat, which promotes strength through unity. This initiative is designed to ensure equal opportunities for every citizen and to encourage progress as one nation, moving forward together, he said.   Highlighting the benefits of simultaneous elections, the Chief Minister said that it would lead to significant cost savings, better administrative efficiency, and uninterrupted development.   The Gurugram Run, Saini noted, carries a powerful message for youth — that nation-building requires not just policy and governance, but the energy, commitment, and resolve of young citizens. When the power of youth comes forward, it ignites a wave of change, he said, adding that the enthusiastic participation in the event symbolized an awakening of Indias future. The run, he emphasized, is not just about physical fitness but also a metaphor for the fitness of democracy.   For the success of One Nation, One Election, Saini stressed the importance of innovation, dialogue, and sensitivity. He urged youth to create meaningful conversations around the idea — in colleges, village chaupals, and across social media platforms. This is not solely the governments responsibility; it is a collective mission for nation-building, he added.   Citing the success of the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao campaign launched in 2015 by PM Modi from Haryana, Saini said that it stands as a testament to what national unity and public participation can achieve. He also condemned the recent terrorist attack in the Pahalgam area of Jammu and Kashmir, calling it a cowardly act. Under PM Modis leadership, the government is committed to eliminating terrorism, he said, noting that Tiranga Yatras being held across the country symbolize national unity and resolve against terror.   He further praised Gurugram as more than a modern city — it is a symbol of Indias entrepreneurial spirit, technological progress, and youth empowerment. The inspiration from this vibrant land — home to Mata Sheetla and a hub of innovation and skilled youth — can serve as a catalyst for change, first in Haryana and then nationwide, he said.   If an idea benefits the nation, improves administration, and strengthens democracy, necessary constitutional changes aligned with contemporary needs must be considered, he added. India, as the worlds largest democracy, must constantly explore ways to enhance transparency, capacity, and cohesion in its democratic processes. One Nation, One Election is a step in that direction. Todays event is not just about fitness—it is about the future, he concluded.   CM Joins Youth for a Gully Cricket Match, Wins Hearts with Spontaneous Gesture In a rare and heartwarming moment of spontaneity, Chief Minister Saini halted his convoy in Gurugram on Sunday to play cricket with local youth. On his way to the PWD Rest House after attending a One Nation, One Election program, the CM spotted a group of youngsters playing near Rajiv Chowk and surprised them by joining their game.   Accompanied by Cabinet Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Minister of State for Sports Gaurav Gautam, and BJP state president Mohan Lal Kaushik, Saini picked up the bat and faced a few deliveries, instantly winning cheers and applause.   The youth were thrilled by the unexpected interaction, calling it an unforgettable experience. Sainis friendly gesture, selfies, and cricketing stint not only broke protocol but also reinforced his image as an accessible and people-centric leader, leaving a lasting impression of public connect and humility.
