AAP celebrates Bypoll Wins in Delhi: Kejriwal, Mann Hail Ludhiana Bypoll Win as Message of Trust and Change

  • | Thursday | 26th June, 2025

Riding high on its recent bypoll victories in Punjab and Gujarat, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday turned its post-election celebration into a powerful political statement, reaffirming its commitment to clean politics, honest governance, and people-centric development. Held at the historic Kapurthala House in Delhi, the event saw AAPs top brass — including national convener Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann — declare the Ludhiana West win as a resounding vote of confidence in the Mann Governments work in Punjab.   The newly elected Ludhiana West MLA Sanjeev Arora, who was felicitated during the event, described the victory as one powered by positivity, performance, and peoples aspirations. With the win in Ludhiana West, AAP has not only retained its electoral turf but also silenced critics who expected anti-incumbency to dent its popularity midway through its term in Punjab.   Kejriwal, addressing the gathering, sent a pointed message to the political class in Punjab, stating that the bypoll result wasnt just a mandate for Sanjeev Arora — it was a vote of approval for the Mann Governments war against drugs, education reforms, and clean administration.   Kejriwal called the victory a proof of pro-incumbency, citing that AAPs margin in Ludhiana West had grown significantly compared to 2022. After three years in power, people are supposed to get tired of governments. But here, they are giving us bigger margins. That shows they believe in us, he said.   He also lauded Bhagwant Manns anti-drug campaign, saying, We are bulldozing drug mafias and no one, no matter how powerful, will be spared. The same people who once transported drugs using government vehicles are now on the run. This is the new Punjab.   Chief Minister Mann, visibly jubilant, hailed the Ludhiana result as a precursor to a larger political shift in the state. Last time we won 92 seats, and with the way people are responding, were confident of crossing 100 in 2027, he said.   Mann used the occasion to underline how AAP has broken dynastic politics. In other parties, even a district presidents post is reserved for the sons and nephews of bigwigs. But we brought the common man to the highest offices, he said, praising Kejriwal for ushering in what he called the politics of work.   Referring to the states developmental challenges, Mann said: Sewer lids are still open after 75 years of independence. Previous governments gave excuses; we are giving solutions.   For the newly-elected MLA from Ludhiana West Sanjeev Arora, the bypoll win marked a personal milestone and a vindication of issue-based campaigning. I didnt attack any opponent. I spoke only of development. The people appreciated that, he said.   Arora reaffirmed his loyalty to AAPs principles saying that he would follow whatever responsibility the party entrusts him with, including ministerial duties. His clean image and calm campaign tone have earned him praise across party lines.   The bypoll win also set off speculation around Cabinet expansion and the vacant Rajya Sabha seat from Punjab, which may now be filled by a candidate seen as both a political strategist and a clean administrator. CM Mann dropped a broad hint, stating that whoever can raise Punjabs voice in Delhi, will go to the Rajya Sabha.   Sources maintained that Sanjeev Arora will soon be inducted into the Cabinet, as was promised during the campaign, signaling AAPs intent to reward performance and public connect.
