TN govt won’t arrest H Raja in haste: Dhinakaran

"The state government will not arrest Raja for his derogatory speech against the Madras high court. The speed with which they arrested Sofia, they will not show in the case of Raja. They will never even arrest him," Dhinakaran said.He chided minister K Pandiarajan for coming to the rescue of Raja and seeing nothing wrong in the latter's statements. The people of the state will deliver the correct verdict, when polls take place, both for the Centre and the state," he said. CHENNAI: Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) deputy general secretary T T V Dhinakaran on Wednesday said the Tamil Nadu government would not show any haste in arresting BJP national secretary H Raja , unlike in the case of research scholar Lois Sofia who was arrested in Tuticorin for raising slogans against party state president Tamilisai Soundarajan."The state government will not arrest Raja for his derogatory speech against the Madras high court. How will they arrest him when they are running a government that is submissive to the Centre," asked Dhinakaran, while talking to reporters in Bengaluru.Dhinakaran was in Bengaluru to meet his aunt V K Sasikala, who is undergoing imprisonment in Parapana Agrahara prison."Through police firing, this government shot 13 people dead, who were protesting for good air and water in Tuticorin. We should not take him or his views seriously," Dhinakaran said.Asked about the 18 MLAs disqualification case, he said it was for the court to decide when the verdict would be delivered. "How can I comment on when the verdict will be delivered or on its outcome. It is for the court to decide. I hope, it will be in our favour," he said."Let us all wait for six months. The people of the state will deliver the correct verdict, when polls take place, both for the Centre and the state," he said.
