CHENNAI: The owner of a brickkiln in Chengalpet handed over a Lord Perumal stone idol , which had been in his possession for the past two years, to revenue officials, as advised by the idol wing CID.Idol wing CID inspector-general of police A G Pon Manickavel recently appealed to people to surrender unauthorised antique artefacts and idols in their possession.Brickkiln owner Ganeshram of Chennai and manager Venkatesan approached idol wing CID officials and informed them that they had recovered the four-foot idol in a load of sand two years ago.
