TN: Woman, daughter die in suspicious manner

She died while being rushed to hospital.The Aranthangi police questioned the family members to find out the cause of the deaths. PUDUKKOTTAI: Police registered a case of suspicious death on Friday after a 33-year-old woman and her 12-year-old daughter died in a village in Pudukkottai district of Tamil Nadu.The deceased have been identified as S Thamarai Selvi, 33, and her daughter S Dharshini, 12.On Thursday, Thamarai Selvi went to her mother’s home at Aavanathankottai where her daughter was staying. The family members took her to Government Hospital in Aranthangi where she was declared brought dead.All of them returned home after keeping the body in a mortuary in the hospital. She was taken to a private clinic in the area where she was given first aid and sent back home. The girl again fell sick and vomited in the midnight.

The girl was studying in a government school there while the woman and her husband, Sekar, 40, were working in a restaurant in Aravakurichi in Karur district, police said.The mother-daughter duo had mutton dish prepared at the house in the afternoon. The girl developed nausea in the evening. She was taken to a private clinic in the area where she was given first aid and sent back home. The girl again fell sick and vomited in the midnight. The family members took her to Government Hospital in Aranthangi where she was declared brought dead.All of them returned home after keeping the body in a mortuary in the hospital. Thamaraiselvi vomited in the early hours on Friday. She died while being rushed to hospital.The Aranthangi police questioned the family members to find out the cause of the deaths. The common reply from them was that both of them had lunch in the backyard of the house while others were present in the house.The police said they had no suspicion on the quality of the meat because the other family members had the same food.
