CHENNAI: AMMK deputy general secretary T T V Dhinakaran on Wednesday accused the BJP of ignoring the interests of Tamil Nadu on all fronts since it does not have a base in the state. At the same time, people from all segments are suffering under the Edappadi K Palaniswami government, he said."The party ruling at the Centre does not have a base in Tamil Nadu. Hence, it is ignoring the interests of the state, even while every segment of people is suffering under EPS government here," Dhinakaran said, addressing a large gathering of public at Thaalavadi in Erode district. He began his three-day tour of Erode district on Wednesday, as part of his programme to reach out to people."Within nine months of its launch, the AMMK has established its branch in every village in Tamil Nadu. The AMMK --- which has created a support base among men, women and youth -- will retrieve AIADMK party and two leaves symbol. To achieve that, I urge people to vote for cooker in the coming elections," Dhinakaran said."The DMK, despite having a nine-party alliance, fears facing elections. That's why it approached court to put off bypolls. The AMMK is not afraid of facing polls since the party is being taken forward by MGR's true followers. While Amma (Jayalalithaa) has passed away, she is present across the state through AMMK," he said.He also sought to highlight the strong support that the "Kongu region" offered to MGR and Jayalalithaa. "Kongu region has always remained as a significant support base for Puratchi Thalaivar MGR and Amma. With the EPS government, having given up all those schemes opposed by Amma, facing sure defeat in the Lok Sabha polls, I urge people of this Kongu region to vote for cooker, so that we can together retrieve the past glory of the AIADMK and two leaves," Dhinakaran said.
