CHENNAI: The Tiruvallur police have solved the murder of a 15-year-old girl -- whose skeletal remains were recovered from near a canal on Sunday last -- by arresting her relative , who was also her boyfriend. They police have launched a hunt for four other accused Inquires revealed that the accused man, aged 20 years, had sexually assaulted the Class X girl after detaining her in a motor pump room in a farmland near her village. Later, he allowed his four friends to sexually assault her.The police said both the girl and the accused hailed from a village near Pothatturpet. He confessed to have taken the girl to the pump room on September 7 where he and his friends sexually assaulted the girl for five days. The girl started bleeding and died.The accused initially buried her body near a farmland. Fearing that police would fine the body, , the accused dug it up and buried it on the banks of a canal.Based on the confession of the accused, police have launched a hunt for the absconding suspects. They recovered the girl’s schoolbag and books from bushes near the pump room.The girl was studying in Class X in a nearby school. She was last seen on September 7 morning before she went to school. When she failed to return home in the evening, her parents lodged a complaint with police. They later came to know that the girl didn’t attend all classes on September 7.
