Expeditious measures by govt. reduced the fatality rate: CM Palaniswami

CM extended the lockdown in the state till August 31 after talking to district collectors and health experts.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami boosted the Tamil Nadu’s achievement to reduce the fatality rate to 1.6 percent because of the expeditious measures taken by the state government. CM also extended the lockdown in the state till August 31 after talking to district collectors and health experts.

“The expeditious measures taken by the Tamil Nadu government to contain the spread of coronavirus has helped reduce the Covid-19 fatality rate to 1.6 percent in the state and enhance the recovery rate to 73 percent”, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami said on Wednesday.

“Overcoming the challenges posed by the coronavirus, my government strived to improve the health of the people besides the fiscal health of the state. The government ensured uninterrupted availability of essential commodities during the four months of lockdown,” he added, in an address at a conference of district collectors.
