Restore Chennai as embarkation point of Hajj Prince of Arcot to Modi News Today

Chennai: The Prince of Arcot Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene in 'an important issue' which would be affecting several thousands of intending Hajj pilgrims – 2021 from Tamilnadu Puducherry and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. He requested Modi to restore Chennai International Airport as an embarkation point for pilgrims. The Prince of Arcot said that Chennai has continued as an important embarkation point ever since flights were started in the year 1987 to Jeddah Saudi Arabia. Thus Chennai is the most ideal and convenient embarkation point for Hajj pilgrims from said three places. As a matter of fact the Tamilnadu Hajj Committee and Tamilnadu Hajj Service Society have created excellent infrastructure with exclusive Hajj House in the heart of the city of Chennai for the comfort of pilgrims he added.

This would mean that the intending pilgrims will have to travel all the way to Kochi from their three different hometowns which would cause tremendous difficulties and hardships to the elderly and weak pilgrims in particular” he said. Thus Chennai is the most ideal and convenient embarkation point for Hajj pilgrims from said three places. As a matter of fact the Tamilnadu Hajj Committee and Tamilnadu Hajj Service Society have created excellent infrastructure with exclusive Hajj House in the heart of the city of Chennai for the comfort of pilgrims he added.
