DakshinaChitra to host exhibition of paintings by German artist and sculptures of Indian artist

CHENNAI: DakshinaChitra is hosting an exhibition of paintings and metal sculptures by Juergen Puetz and Saravanan at its Varija Gallery from April 15 to May 10.Juergen, a German artist , has been influenced by the teachings of Ramana Maharishi and Sri Aurobindo. Apparently, both Juergen and Saravanan work from Auroville. His paintings are also influenced by works of Gerhard Richter and Jackson Pollock. His peacocks, hens and temple cars have won him many admirers from all over the country. His works have been part of many group shows in India.

Juergen will exhibit some abstract works in meditative colours and forms.Saravanan, a national award-winning young sculptor, has been experimenting with various kinds of metal pieces, mostly junk and creates realistic three dimensional sculptures by welding them. His peacocks, hens and temple cars have won him many admirers from all over the country. His works have been part of many group shows in India. Apparently, both Juergen and Saravanan work from Auroville.
