Coimbatore: A 31-year-old man, who posed as a superintendent of police from Vijayawada and demanded Rs 3,000 from a sub-inspector here, has been arrested . He wanted the sub-inspector to pay Rs 3,000 to his relative visiting Coimbatore as he had lost his purses. The officers called him back and told him to ask his relative collect the money from the station. Two and a half years ago, he walked into a police station at Adilapad and used a walkie-talkie to demand money from sub-inspectors. He then left for Chennai, where he was arrested for stealing iron rods.
