Stop pillaging of natural resources: farmers’ assn.

The Tamil Nadu Vivasayigal Sangam has urged the district administration to stop pillaging of natural resources from the water bodies. A monitoring committee consisting of officials from revenue, police and representatives from farmers association should be establish to check illegal sand mining, he added. Palanisamy alleged that anti-social elements were indulging in illegal sand, gravel and red sand mining from the water bodies. In a petition submitted to District Collector at the grievances’ day programme here on Monday, its president, Su. If the company come into existence, the surrounding villages would be affected with pollution and also fear that the ground water get contaminated.
