NIA to seek extradition of fugitive in Sasikumar case

Pudur, an accused in the case, who is believed to be in Oman or Qatar. “We will approach the court and seek his extradition, once all evidence against him are collected,” said an official. According to the NIA, Hassan left for West Asia in November 2016, after the murder of Sasikumar in September 2016. On August 30, the NIA conducted searches at Hassan’s house at K.K. Pudur and at a timber mill belonging to his family on Nallampalayam Road based on warrants issued by the NIA special court at Poonamallee in Chennai. The NIA recovered a sword and a billhook besides certain documents from the office of the mill. A digital video recorder, a hard disk, a mobile phone, two SIM cards, three memory cards, a pen drive and photocopies of Aadhaar cards, and passports were recovered from the house.
