AICTE to begin training faculty of technical institutes soon

COIMBATORE: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has finalised the curriculum for the training programme for faculty members of technical institutions and it will be officially launched in 20 days by the minister of human resources development, AICTE chairman Anil Sahasrabudhe said in Coimbatore on Thursday.The semester-long training programme will be mandatory for recruiting faculty members in technical institutions, Sahasrabudhe said. AICTE will set up training centres at Jaipur, Thiruvananthapuram , Baroda and Guwahati. The course will cover pedagogy, exam reformation, developing curriculum, creating lesson plans, interactive teaching, giving projects and leadership. "The programme will be 4.5 to five months (a semester) long and have eight modules. "On the common engineering entrance exam, he said, "Many states think the state board syllabus is not at the same level as CBSE syllabus.
