People protest against real estate firm for swindling money

Tirupur: More than 50 people laid siege to the office of the police commissioner in the city on Tuesday, seeking action against a real estate firm, which had dumped them lakhs of rupees by promising to hand them over housing plots at Chinnakalipalayam.The protesters said they have paid thousands of rupees each to buy land at Chinnakalipalayam near Iduvai, but even two years after receiving the money the real estate firm was not ready to hand them over land documents. “At least 150 people from various parts of the city have paid anything between Rs 50,000 and Rs 60,000 each to the firm for buying housing plots at Senthil Nagar in Chinnakalipalayam.
