They converged on the Avinashi Flyover, Uppilipalayam Flyover and Coimbatore North Flyover and began screaming as the clock ticked away to 12’o clock. While some clubs organized games, dance shows and singing performances before opening the dance floor, others stuck to an entertainment-filled night.Many people chose to spend the night at star hotels, enjoying unlimited food and liquor. “But there were enough cops on the roads, who ensured that the onlookers stayed on the pavements and prevented accidents. They cut cakes and distributed pieces among the crowd.After the celebrations, it was almost 1.30pm before vehicles could move smoothly on the city roads.
