Rtd TNSTC workers fight for Jan pension

“Hence, we have decided to conduct a massive protest at the TNSTC head office on Friday. When we protested, the government disbursed pension to 4,000 retired employees two days ago. Coimbatore: Retired Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) employees staged a sit-in on the TNSTC head office premises on Mettupalayam Road here on Thursday, urging the government settle pension dues of 3,000 of them.Pointing out that 7,000 retired TNSTC employees in the district have been receiving pension from the government every month, TNSTC Retired Employees’ Welfare Association general secretary P Selvarajan said, “But the state government did not provide us pension for January. If the government is not providing the pension amount, we will intensify the protest.”He said those who got retirement from April 2018 were not provided any benefit. The remaining 3,000 are left out.”More than 1,000 retired employees participated in the protest.Selvarajan said TNSTC officials had in the morning promised them to deposit the pension amount to their ba nk accounts by evening, but failed to do so.
