The Podanur police have arrested S Moosa, of the same locality According to an investigation officer, Moosa went to the Tasmac bar on Saradha Mill Road at Podanur after 10pm on Tuesday in an inebriated state. When he occupied a seat in the bar, its staff asked him to leave as it was time for them to close the outlet. He, however, missed the target and the bomb hit a nearby hotel, damaging a portion of its banner name plate.

The entire episode was captured by a CCTV camera installed in a commercial establishment in the vicinity.Based on the CCTV footage, Tasmac bar staff V Ragupathi, 25, lodged a complaint with the Podanur police, who registered a case against Moosa under Section 3(i)(a) of the Explosive Substances Act and arrested him on Wednesday evening. Further investigation is on.The officer said Moosa was a daily wage labourer. “He has theft and assault cases pending against him.”
