A one-year-old female leopard cub, which entered a drinking water pumping station near Hogenakkal in Dharmapuri district, was caught on Wednesday. The station employees came to know it was a leopard cub when they tried to chase it away,” said a forest officer.They immediately alerted the forest department. “The cub came out of the reserve forest near Hogenakkal in search of food and drinking water and entered the station on March 24. The cub got trapped in the cage around 8pm on Wednesday,” the officer said.Later, the cub was taken to veterinary doctors. The cub will be released into forest after a health check-up.Forest officials from the district said the cub had been coming to the station since March 24.
