Coimbatore: Two independent candidates , who had filed nomination for Coimbatore and Pollachi parliament constituencies, withdrew their nominations on Thursday. Subsequently, Sugumar, who was an alternative candidate, withdrew his nomination.Election commission officials said that candidates can withdraw their nominations on Friday from 11am to 3pm. Independent candidate R Ramalingam from Thekkampatti near Mettupalayam had filed nomination for Coimbatore parliament constituency. He was the alternative candidate of AMMK for Pollachi parliament constituency for the general election. The main AMMK candidate S Muthukumar’s nomination for Pollachi was accepted after the scrutiny on Wednesday.
