Workshop on E-learning held

Parul Gupta, Head EU, British Council, said that AICTE and the Ministry of Human Resource and Development are working together to enhance E-learning in India. Over 500 faculty members from various engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka attended a teacher training workshop on ‘E-learning: challenges and opportunities’ organised by Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, in association with All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) and British Council on Friday. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE, stressed the need for connecting education and technology and both staying independent would not produce the desired results. S.Malarvizhi, Chairperson and Managing Trustee of Sri Krishna Institutions, U. Ramesh, Regional Officer, AICTE were also present.

The programme was organised under SWAYAM-Free Online Education, a government initiative to help students who do not have access to the digital world. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE, stressed the need for connecting education and technology and both staying independent would not produce the desired results. Manpreet Singh Manna, Director of AICTE, emphasised on the importance of the shortage of good quality of faculty in the country. Parul Gupta, Head EU, British Council, said that AICTE and the Ministry of Human Resource and Development are working together to enhance E-learning in India. S.Malarvizhi, Chairperson and Managing Trustee of Sri Krishna Institutions, U. Ramesh, Regional Officer, AICTE were also present.
