A reverse osmosis (RO)water plant was installed at Erode Junction on Wednesday by the Railway authorities, providing passengers a safe option to quench thirst. Office -earers of Rotary Club of Erode Central promised on the occasion to start a Passenger Help Desk at Erode Junction with requisite manpower for round-the-clock service. The Salem Division, Southern Railway, teamed up with Rotary Club of Erode Central to install the a 1000 LPH (litres per hour capacity) RO Plant in platform one and concourse area of the Erode Railway Station. The amenity introduced in Erode Junction was in keeping with the emphasis on passenger-friendly facilities in railway stations by Railways Minister Suresh Prabu, officials said. Jayaprakash Upadhya, District Governor, Rotary Club, and senior Rotarians P.M.Shivashankaran and E.K.Sagadhevan took part.
