Policeman’s short film on drunk driving hits the screens

En Thangachikku Kalyanam, a short film made by city-based policeman Rakki Mahesh aka C. Maheswaran (51), not only depicts the dangers of drunk driving, but also its social impacts. En Thangachikku Kalyanam is the eighth short film made by Mr. Maheswaran, head constable with the central crime branch of Coimbatore city police. The short film shows the man after a few months of treatment and narrates how a wrong choice he had made spoiled the life of his beloved sister. Another short film on traffic awareness, Ithu thaguma, was dubbed into Hindi (Kya Yeh Sahi Hai) and screened in theatres in Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata through the Rotary International. The short film, running for a duration of 13 minutes, begins with the wedding preparations of a woman and her elder brother going out with friends in a car to receive the groom and party.
